Lottery – Registration
Registration for the 2021 Gunflint Mail Run 8-dog, 65 mile race will be by lottery. Lottery tickets may be purchased from November 1 through November 14. The drawing will be held on November 15.
The cost to enter the lottery is $20, which is non-refundable. If selected, the lottery ticket cost will be applied to the $150 entry fee. If not selected, the lottery ticket cost will be considered a donation to the Gunflint Mail Run, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
Thirty lottery tickets will be drawn; the first 20 drawn will be given the option to enter, with the final 10 slots put on a waiting list. No other names will be added to the waiting list.
Because of the smaller number of teams this year, only one team will be allowed per kennel for the lottery and the race. Lottery tickets and slots in the race may not be sold to other teams.
For 2021, the previous year’s 12-dog race and 8-dog race winners will be guaranteed entry, however we make no guarantees of these exceptions beyond 2021. Those automatically accepted will be required to pay the full registration price like all other accepted applicants.
Race entry fee is $150 and must be made through the PayPal button on the Gunflint Mail Run website. Payment must be made and Registration Forms submitted by November 30 or the entry slot will be forfeited.
Due to limited parking space available, we request that separate trailers not be used if at all possible. If you must bring a trailer, you should contact Beth well in advance.
