The Gunflint Mail Run Sled Dog Race is a continuous race consisting of two legs of equal distance, separated by a mandatory layover. There are two classes: a 12-dog, 80-mile race and an 8-dog, 65-mile race. It is being held in Cook County, Minnesota, just off the beautiful Gunflint Trail.

Note that due to trail conditions, the 12-dog teams will turn around at County 47/Round Lake Rd and head back to Trail Center from there. Teams WILL NOT be traveling to Blankenburg Pit this year. There are no changes to the 8-dog course.

Here are maps of the two race routes. Please note that the map for the 12 dog race covers both events as the course is the same – the 8 dog race simply turns around earlier. For those familiar with the area, you can see that there are a few challenging hills along the way. It’s going to be a great race!
